BVKSR Mothers Day Special

On Sunday 22 March 2009 (Mothers Day) the BVKSR Held a special event in honour of mothers. The Locomotives running were: -SR Bulleid Unrebuilt Battle of Britain 4-6-2 Pacific 34090 'Sir Eustace Missenden Southern Railway' -LNER A4 4-6-2 Pacific 4468 'Mallard' -LNER B12 4-6-0 8544 -LNER V1/3 2-6-2T Prairie 466 -GWR 56xx Taffy Tank 0-6-2T 5601 There were 3 round trips to York over the Mainline, with 34090 and 4468 top and tailing two of them (on the Teak Set) and 8544 in control of the other (On the Maroon Mark 1 set). 5601 was put in charge of the mixed set (including an Auto Coach) and also operated the Mothers Diner, on which only people with mothers in their party could travel. 466 was on Vintage Stock. The Deal for Mothers was: -Mothers travel at Child Fares -Mothers do not have to pay the extra £5 to travel to York over the Mainline -Only people with Mothers in their Party can travel in the Auto Coach or on the Mothers Diner -20% Discount on all tickets for those with Mothers in their Party As expected there was a distinct prescence of Women over the weekend, with free cab rides given to those who wanted it at Varknar, in either Morse Collieries number 2 or 06 shunter 06003. please visit: www.bvksrailway.weebly.com for more details Next Video: Nottingham East Midlands Model Railway Exhibiton compliation, up soon after this!
