In July of 2006 BSA Troop 157 paddled from Erwin to Wilmington, 150 miles, on the Cape Fear River. Five days from the start our trip was over. Our plan to paddle to the Atlantic Ocean was hampered by strong currents and a stiff head wind. We abandoned our plan but were still rewarded for our efforts by a beautiful lady with a rich and gallant history. Our trip was over, but our journey continues. Travel there and you will find rest for your soul.

 | Where the Cape Fear flows. (Erwin to Fayetteville) In July of 2006 BSA Troop 157 paddled from Erwin to Wilmington, 150 miles, on the Cape Fear River. This is the beginning of that trip. We started out with 18 people full of energy and ready for what ever came our way. We planned to paddle for 7 days with our journey ending at the Atlantic Ocean. A twist of fate changed our plans and hurled us on a journey we would never forget. It was the adventure of a lifetime! |
