Two pairs of eyes, looking at the world monocularly, creating music- that fusion would lead to a wonderful conjoint musical opusand it has happened with guitarist and sound designer Jan Vogedes from Dortmund and singer/songwriter Nic Koray from Mülheim. Both are looking back on years of experience in various bands and projects. Having met on Myspace in 2008 a direct, intensive and creative collaboration has begun between Jan and Nic. Immediately new songs were created by Jans subtle artistic craft or developed from Nics acoustic repertoire. Jans talent of composing complex and emotionally laden sound landscapes was met by Nics gift to be able to take on emotions directly and to transform them into expressive melody and imaginative lyrics. Thus it was easy for the two of them to begin recording immediately in Jans small studio. In only seven weeks they have recorded their whole album, which stands out due to the expression and depth of their music, leaving long-ranging marks and a lot of room for personal interpretation.. Nic Korays voice is sailing on the wide and embracing ocean of sounds- sometimes fragile and apparently lost, sometimes like a ship that knows its destination through the storms. Jan and Nic are intuitively and devotedly creating a colour of music that maybe can be described best with ELECTRIP. A sound that lives somewhere between Lamb, Massive Attack, Portishead, Frou Frou Playing live they are supported by the awesome musicians Sven Kosakowski on drums and David Senf on bass. Music that is looking for the truth between the lines, in the spaces between words, in the silence between sounds „SOMEWHERE ON THE LINE is the name of their Debut to be released this spring.
