Saturday the 11th July: What was going on here well how about 87002 to Glasgow Central And Ayr?. For those who missed it this was Spitfires Electric Scot tour. Now there would have been more shots of the 87 if WCRC had'nt screwed up the formation of the stock meaning that those in premier dining had the joy of the 87 near them on both journeys. However I digress a great day was had by all on this tour and Spitfire deserve the thumbs up. So heres the shots I got of the 87 and one of the 47 if you're interested. As always please rate comment and enjoy all questions will be answered as long as they are sensible.

 | A day with 87002 on ''The Electric Scot'' 11-07-2009 July the 11th 2009 and the chance came again to get 87002 in for haulage for the year. She was working Spitfire's ''Electric Scot'' tour from B'ham Int to Glasgow Central and Ayr. We caught up with her at Stafford on the outward run and stayed with her throughout the course of the day until the way home where we left her at Stafford. The East Lancs Railway hosted a special running day for 3 of the home fleet of 37's these were. 37109 Resplendent in a lovely coat of BR Blue. 37418 which was lovingly restored and perfored flawlessly throughout the day. And Llangolen cast off 37901 which has thnakfully found solace here at Bury.  | Southern Railtours 200609 Two different charters at two different locations seen here. Firstly is 35028 'Clan Line' working the regular 1Z82 London Victoria-Shalford VSOE through Guildford, then later we see 67026 with 67030 on a Northern Belle from Kensington Olympia-Cardiff Central which unexpectedly had to change drivers at Reading West due to the relief man not signing Reading. Paradoxically, the previous driver apparently did not sign Reading West so technically the chord between the two was no man's land!!... |

With double 56's been the booked traction and with the added interest of a virgin ronnie or 57311 on the rear to haul the train from Bristol-Bath And Bath-Bristol.
