Scenic Sights of Colorado I

Recently I took a trip out to the area near Grand Junction, CO. We stayed at a State Park just outside of the Grand Mesa region near the Colorado National Monument. We had planned to spend a good deal of time on the mesa with its many trails and lakes. There, we could let the dogs run around a lot and to get them to swim in the lakes. Like many best laid plans it didn't work: at between 10,000 ft to 11,300 ft (3000 to 3400 m) elevation, much of it was encased in snow and many lakes were still frozen... in the middle of June! So, we did a bit of sight seeing. Grand Mesa and its surround area have some truly spectacular, rugged, and beautiful scenery. Grand Mesa is the largest mesa in the world. Pictures don't do it justice! This is but a very small portion of the region. We hope to go back around the August timeframe and try again! This show is 8m20s
