This is a video clip from the DVD program "Storm Chase 1996-2001 by Robert Prentice." The clips were shot from US Highway 34 on the south edge of Benkelman, Nebraska and from Kansas State Highway 25 about 10 miles north of Atwood, Kansas. The Atwood, Kansas tornado caught my storm chase partner and me off-guard as it formed behind us along the supercell's rear flank gust front/flanking line and blew out our back windows as it raced over our chase vehicle. 1986 Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS Atwood Kansas Rod Run Drags
This is my brother racing my old Chevrolet Monte Carlo SS, I am in the passenger seat. He bought it from me and took over where I left off. This is a 1/8 mile race at the airport at the local car show. He is racing his buddy in a 74 Pontiac Ventura fitted with a Buick 455. The Monte has a small block 350 with some go-fast parts, new transmission, new rearend, new lots-of-stuff. I'm not tellin' what ;-)

More footage than my old video of the same tornado. May 10, 1991: At least five tornadoes are seen, some of them as satellite vortices around the large columnar dusty tornado. The real danger here was from satellite tornado formation directly above them. At the end of the video, the wind picked up and rotation occurred above the house, but no tornado formed. One home was torn apart and another damaged by the larger tornado. This video was shot by Steve Gartin.

This is a video clip from the DVD program "Storm Chase 1990-1992 by Robert Prentice." This violent F4 tornado was shot from the junction of Oklahoma Highway 15 and I-35 (mile marker 203) in Noble County, Oklahoma. The tornado crossed I-35 over mile marker 200, bending the sign over. This is a video clip from the DVD program "Storm Chase 1993-1995 by Robert Prentice." The video was shot from Texas FM 453 east and southeast of Kellerville, Texas. The roar of the violent tornado was clearly audible where my chase partners and I shot it from the south. The tornado was documented by the VORTEX storm chase teams which recorded valuable research data and assigned an F5 rating. 1995 June 9 Farmer's Valley - Vernon, Texas Tornado
This is a video clip from the DVD program "Storm Chase 1993-1995 by Robert Prentice." The video was shot about 8 miles northwest of Vernon, Texas near Farmer's Valley, Texas. This tornado is one of the closest and most startling multi-vortex tornadoes I have ever encountered. The parent supercell had already produced 15 - 20 weak, short-lived, "dust-whirl" tornadoes.
