My cousin and her friend were attacked by a punk who is a coward......Suspect Arrested In Bizarre SJ Fire, Murder Case CBS 5 CrimeWatch SAN JOSE (CBS 5 / KCBS / AP /BCN) ― A suspect was arrested Thursday afternoon in connection with a bizarre murder and attempted murder case that stemmed from a morning house fire, San Jose police said. The man, identified as 40-year-old Barry Anthony Monroe of San Jose, was booked for homicide after turning himself into California Highway Patrol officers near San Francisco's Golden Gate Bridge about 1 p.m., SJPD Officer Enrique Garcia told CBS 5. Firefighters responding to a one-alarm fire early Thursday discovered a dead woman's body burning inside a home where a second woman had been stabbed and injured and two children suffered smoke inhalation. Police said the death was the city's 21st homicide of the year. The murder victim - identified as 31-year-old Tamika Austin - had apparently been stabbed and then set on fire, according to authorities. An autopsy was planned to confirm the cause of her death. The fire was reported around 2 a.m. at 1049 East Taylor Street in a quiet neighborhood east of downtown. It was contained by 2:52 a.m. The stabbed woman, who police said was covered in blood, was expected to survive her multiple wounds, Garcia said. She was hospitalized along with the children found at the home. Detectives said earlier in the day that their investigation was focused on finding on one particular person in connection with the fire, homicide and attempted murder. Police later indicated that the suspect, Monroe, had been dating the murder victim, Austin. The woman who survived with stab wounds was Austin's roommate, but her identity was not released. The relationship of the two children hospitalized was not immediately clear. East Taylor Street between 21st and 23rd streets was blocked Thursday for much of the day while police continued to investigate at the crime scene. (© CBS Broadcasting Inc. All Rights Reserved.
