***This video is being reposted as we took it down to tweak it a bit*** Hooray for Tag Team Comedy! On May 17, 2008 the Meathands accepted an invitation to travel down to Fullerton, CA and join the popular Orange County troupe "Improv Shmimprov!" on their home stage--the mighty Maverick Theatre in Dowtown Fullerton. The Meathands and Shmimprov squared off in a "challenge" format that consisted of a series of games, many we hadn't seen before but we jumped in ready to play nonetheless and it was a evening of fun and laughs with a great group of guys. Big thanks to Shmimprov and their loyal fans who gave us a lot of love that night. We may not have beaten them on their home court but we sure out-dirtied them that night--that's for sure! (Thanks to Nikki and Dawn...okay so Eric assaulted a koala bear, we'll name him an accomplice as well.) Here's a clip from the madness clean enough for our YouTube channel. It's the opening flurry of one liners based on the interview of an audience member names simply JOSE. Shmimprov host Erik Furuheim (killer host btw) gets us started with the interview and directs the series of "Answering Machine" messages. Enjoy!  | "Nana's Not Dead!" (Five by Five) New video! This is a recent clip from a Thursday night improv show in Culver City. Oct. 2, 2008 to be exact. We often do a game called a "Five by Five" where five actors do five scenes. Each scene is in a seperate world with seperate characters but the amount of actors increase with each scene. So you get a 1 person scene, 2 person scene, 3 person and so on up to five. Sometimes we'll get to the five person scene and then revisit those worlds with people exiting in the order the came in ... |
