Ridin' The Storm Out in Southern Wisconsin - Floods of 2008 Part 1
Description:
In late May and much of June 2008, a large area of the Midwest including southern Wisconsin experienced repeated rounds of severe thunderstorms that produced record-breaking rain and flooding, as well as two outbreaks of mostly small and short-lived, but destructive, tornadoes. On June 9, County Highway A near Lake Delton was washed away as the lake burst through its banks and emptied itself into the Wisconsin River. This video covers Thursday June 12 and Friday June 13. On June 12 I was riding along on my dad's work route through Sauk and Columbia Counties as the floodwaters rose throughout the area. On the 13th, my dad shot some footage of the situation on the Maunesha River in Waterloo to the east of Madison.
