On Thursday June 25th, 2009 an F2 Tornado tracked through the small town of Avon, Ontario, taking the roof off of a barn and destroying a house. It lasted at least 35 minutes as it built and waned over the town. Luckily noone was injured. About the storm chasers - We are 2 Flight Service Specialists with over 30 years experience observing, reporting, monitoring and briefin the weather to both commercial and recreational pilots.

Suspected tornados touched down in Durham, Vaughan, and Newmarket. Police confirm a lone fatality in Durham but refused to comment on reports the victim was an 11-year-old boy. Witnesses said the person was inside a workshed when it collapsed. High winds flattened buildings, stripped roofs off homes, toppled trees, and brought down power lines.
