Title:
Fox News Trashes the Netherlands

Description:
EDIT- NOTICE OF NON-INFRINGEMENT: THIS SHORT CLIP FROM FOX NEWS WAS UPLOADED FOR "FAIR USE" PURPOSES OF ANALYSIS/CRITICISM ON A PUBLIC ISSUE. IN ADDITION TO THE TEXTUAL CRITICISM I PROVIDED BELOW, UPLOADING THIS SHORT CLIP ALLOWED HUNDREDS OF OTHERS TO COMMENT AND CRITICIZE, INCLUDING MANY FROM THE NETHERLANDS WHO OTHERWISE WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN ABLE TO SEE THIS CLIP AND PARTICIPATE IN THIS IMPORTANT DEBATE. In part of a special series on the secularization of Europe, Fox News ran this segment trashing the Netherlands. The clip uses Fox News's frequent method of attributing its judgments to "some observers" and "people." One such quote from about halfway through the segment: "They have become what some observers say is militantly secular, ridiculing anyone who holds religion as important and shunning all public displays of faith." And be sure to stay tuned for this quote at the end that typifies the Fox News approach: "After euthanasia and infanticide, the next move in the Netherlands is probably a suicide pill, not for those who are terminally ill, but just tired with life. While it hasn't been legalized and is probably still several years off, people are already talking about the idea." Notice how this last assertion that "people are already talking about the idea" is self-authenticating...

The POLICE STATE of the Netherlands
This video contains shocking images of how the Dutch police beat up unarmed peacefully demonstrating students, in AMSTERDAM and MIDDELBURG (the capital of the province of Zeeland). It's an outrage to use excessive violence against young scholars and it proves once more, the Dutch government is rigid, right wing, undemocratic and lost all sense of proportion and gives a strong signal: "It's okay to beat up kids, we do it with pleasure, and we hereby abolish the right of demonstration for every citizen, Hail Balkenende!" For more excessive images of police beatings in Zeeland, which alas I didn't see when I made this video, watch: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aFONZDwz3IY (Juan's YouTube video #210)

Live and Let Die - 34 min documentary
10 March 2002 Twelve weeks ago, George Van Luijk sat at his wife's bedside and watched her die when Dr Van Oudvorst gave her a lethal injection. "I am sad, but I can relax my mind now," says George. On average, at least 10 terminally ill people legally die by euthanasia every day in Holland -- a figure that would provoke outrage and controversy in most societies.

http://www.weforum.org/openforum/ 24.01.2008 Open Forum - Welcome & The Comeback of Religion: A Potential Danger for the Secular State? Introducing the Open Forum 2008 With André Schneider, Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer, World Economic Forum Thomas Wipf, President of the Council, Federation of Swiss Protestant Churches, Switzerland The Comeback of Religion: A Potential Danger for the Secular State? Secularization was a decisive step towards peaceful cohabitation of different religions in Europe. However, not every religion considers the separation of state and religion as a natural course of action. For example, Islam is a unity between the sacred and profane spaces of society. Thus, Islamic states claim that the state represents Islamic communities and that state law is rooted in religious law. 1) How can states in Europe guarantee religious plurality and freedom while simultaneously maintaining their own way of life and culture embedded in Christian values and traditions? 2) How does Islam see the relationship between state and religion? Are there any repercussions on the cohabitation of different religions in secularized states? 3) Does Islam face a similar question to the one Christians have intensely struggled with since Enlightenment, namely, recognition of a separation of state and religion? Muslims don`t look islam as a normal religion, but as a whole system of Life, which gives all answers about this life and hereafter. many people don`t think how they came to this life and what is waiting them after death. they just do not want to think about their death although they must meet it....... The followers of other religions have no decisive proof for their belief, therefore they believe in their religions emotionally or through imitation. Some of them think that you just have to have faith without clear proof. However when it comes to normal things in life people apply a lot of thought such as buying a car, house, choosing a University course or which bank to join, so how can it be that when it comes to the most important questions about life; which define the purpose of our lives that we should just have 'faith' without being convinced absolutely. It is therefore vital for a Muslim to believe in the existence of Allah (swt) without any doubt whatsoever and to believe in the Prophethood of Muhammad (saw) and that the Qur'an is the final revelation sent by Allah (swt) to humanity. Islam is unlike all the other religions as it has a decisive proof that convinces the mind.
