Title:
MAMC- Metro Shovel Out - 01/19/09 Day of Service
Description:
The Metro Area Mayors' Committee for People with Disabilities wants you to join us this National King Day Service to make a difference. It's easy to see that Dilworth, Fargo, Moorhead and West Fargo have dealt with a substantial amount of snow fall this winter. The snow has piled up at intersections, walkways and busstops making it extremely difficult for individuals to get around the town. Not only is it tiresome to climb the mountains of snow that have piled up in pedestrian areas, but it is downright dangerous and sometimes impossible to navigate around. The time to act is now! On Monday, January 19th, bundle up, grab your shovels and GO! As Martin Luther King Jr. said, "Injustice anywhere is a threat to justice everywhere." Let us refuse for this injustice to continue in our area: On January 19th, we will meet at Freedom Resource Center for Independent Living, Inc. 2701 9th Ave SW Fargo, ND 58103 at 12:30pm. We will divide up into groups and travel out to bust down the snow! Bring your vans, bring your shovels, bring extra shovels! Bring your energy and your determination to make a difference. When you finish up, meet back at Freedom Resource Center to warm up for some coffee, hot chocolate and goodies. It's that simple.
