Title:
Dwight Whitley-"All Aboard" (2000)
Description:
A birthday tribute to Keith's big brother on his 62nd birthday on July 24, 2008. Dwight and his wife Flo are true advocates for Keith's fans and make themselves constantly available for his fans. Dwight was (and still is) a great musician, but married at 19 and chose to work in the coal industry to support his wife and two sons while he watched his baby brother enjoy great success in the bluegrass and country music industry. After years of establishing himself in the coal industry, and after relentless begging from his two sons John & Mike, Dwight released his debut album "Brotherly Love" in 1995, one of the most successful indie country albums released that year. The Academy of Independent Recording Artists nominated Dwight for the award certification of MALE VOCALIST OF THE YEAR COUNTRY DIVISION in 1996. And on the 11th of January, 1998 Dwight was nominated for video of the year for "The Legend And The Man" at The North American Country Music Association International in Gatlinburg, TN and won. In 2000 he released his follow-up entitled "Nothin' But a Woman," which featured his versions of songs Keith had recorded but never released. Unfortunately, in March 2002, Dwight's eldest son John was killed in a car accident, and Dwight was so devestated by the loss that he chose never to record again. Dwight now works as a truck driver in eastern Kentucky where he resides with his wife Flo, his wife of 43 years. His son Mike lives close by. But Dwight & Flo continues to meet Keith's fans and shares their time and memories with fans who travel every September to Sandy Hook, Kentucky during their annual Tobacco Festival. Thank you, Dwight, and have a wonderful day!

Randy was an older brother of Keith Whitley's who was killed in a motorcycle accident in October 1983 at the age of 34 years, 10 months, and left behind a 2-year-old son. Keith was to pass away himself on May 9, 1989 at the age of 34 ... |
