A summer weekend at Jonathan Dickinson State Park, Florida, camping and canoeing along the Loxahatchee River in Florida. Although we did not see or encounter any alligators, a week after, to the day, on June 19th 1993, Bradley Weidenhamer a 10 year old young boy was killed by an 11'4" alligator while wading in the Loxahatchee River in Jonathan Dickinson State Park at 6:00 in the evening.

Canoeing Ross Lake (WA)
Ross Lake is in the heart of the North Cascades National Park. The trip starts on Diablo Lake and a short 5 mile paddle will take you to the base of Ross dam. A truck can portage you and your gear up the steep 2.6 mile climb to the top. Once on the lake you can easily spend a week exploring all that Ross Lake has to offer.
