Title:
Oldfield Park 4.2.08

Description:
The busiest Oldfield Park 10 minutes ever! We got off our train, 158764 and 66511 was just departing the loop with the Calvert Bins. A HST then flew past, New MTU at the front. 66165 works BSPM-Eastleigh tanks and 66097 follows 62 seconds later on 6C41 Newport-Westbury with a huge load! A few tones involved.

25 mins at Oldfield Park to see 67005+67019 Working Westbury-Cardiff for the Wales vs Italy rugby match. A good old blast of the horn from the driver making me happy and also making my heart repulse very unconvincingly! I then made my way to Bath Spa to travel on 67012+67026 on another special this time from Paddington. No clips as i had low battery. hsts, 158s and a 150 in action at oldfield park, most with horns.

It's supposed to be summer?! Oh well I went out to see the 'summer extra' 67 service anyway! You can also see why I hate spped restrictions! It is getting worse down here at the moment, I'm still not sure what's going on! Anyway, enough moaning, 67003+67025 working 2O72 09.09 Bristol-Weymouth, departing Oldfield Park 2 late. FGW hsts, 158s and a SWT 159 in action to a very low speeds! The FGW 158s certainly enjoying themselves! I din't even ask for those great horns! Enjoy.

A complete waste of time unfortunately! But I thought I might aswell upload the video anyway. I was battling the horrific weather conditions for 90 mins awaiting 60100 with 6C41, however it didn't turn up and I later found found out I missed it by 20 minutes, I wasn't the happiest person alive! A selection of normal traffic with 159105 on 15.52 Bristol-Waterloo HST on 16.00 Bristol-Paddington 150267 on a late running Gloucester-Westbury 158958 on 15.30 Cardiff-Portsmouth 43xxx+43041 on the ...

A beautiful evening in the City of Bath, tempting me to make the most of it and go out to see the Fastline Coal. With lighter evenings getting ever nearer, I was hoping the Coal would be ontime and I'd capture it in decent light. It wasn't to be. Although after I left at 18.40 I did see 66722 working the train passing Twerton an hour late, why did I leave?! I did enjoy myself with the normal traffic, a fair few hsts, some 150s, some 158s and a 143! Including an ECS HST from London Paddington ...

Finally, my patience pays off! I battled it out for 2 long hours awaiting the Fastline Coal, It finally turn't up 62 late! However, I still haven't seen my first Fastline 66, today, on hire, gbrfs' 66724 worked 6Z08 to Chaddesdon! I'll see one oneday i'm sure of it! I was just about to leave and I'd packed my tripod away when it came so unfortunately the shot is handheld. Also, Bath has finally disdinguished itself with Voyagers! At the same time as the previous eveing a Class 220 came ...

You may think I'm mad, but I don't mind! It was a Sunday afternoon and I heard that a 142 was coming through! I was straight down the local station to see it! The number was 142029 working 5Z42 Reading-Exeter Via Bristol, It had returned from Reading following tests. I had also been tipped off that 60075 was working 6W33 Patchway-Westbury, So I seen that aswell. A few other units in action, 158798 on a non-stop service. The others were stoppers so I photographed them instead. Lots of hsts ...

In hurendous weather conditions, we battled a day out at Oldfield Park! We were in anticipation of 66039 which was working the Westbury-Bath leg of the VSOE, We seen it passing Oldfield Park around 13 late with a consist of 12. 66011 was also in action with todays 6C41 ADJ-Westbury, and Steve Rogers and 66186 was in charge of an unusual 6B84 Westbury-Machen. A great 2tone from him as usual! Lots of the usual traffic including 153s, 158s, 159s and hsts. A few 2tones from them aswell. 158950 ...

2 sessions at Oldfield Park, the first being about 8.30 before my train to Nailsea, the second being 12.00-14.20 spent with 50031mad, a very enjoyable few hours it was too. We weren't expecting much as it was a saturday but there was diverts so we knew we'd at least get 1 freight! Infact we got 2, 66096 on 4D10? Didcot-Avonmouth and 66102 on 6W33 Hinksey-Westerleigh Jnc with a cracking 2tone. Lots of the normal hsts, 158s, 150s and 159s with some 2tones, the best one coming from the units ...

A fantastic day at the tunnel, the aim of the day, to get horns! I would say that we succeeded! The freight was slow, as Wednesday's always are, with 66176 on Westbury-Newport engineers and then returns. 66549 heads towards Bath Spa light engine along with 66555. 66552 does the honours for the 3rd week in a row on the Avon Bins, it's right at the end of the video and is defiantely worth waiting for! Plenty of hsts, 158s, 150s and 153s with 2tones. 43015 is still eluding me! However 158881 ...
