Sea otter pup befriends kayaker
During a trip to Elkhorn Slough, California, a young sea otter noticed my kayak and spent the next 10 minutes playing around and then just left. As a note, please don't feed the otters. This pup was tagged, and was probably looking for food. As you can see, they tend to get dependent on humans. I won't even touch them. I don't think human contact is a good thing. Enjoy it.

While kayaking in LA a seal was floating in the water. When he saw me he swam all around the kayak and eventually jumped on to the back, where he proceeded to eventually try to push me off with his chest. This video shows him before he got possessive.

A Seal Sits on our Kayak
Taken with our digital camera, we captured a seal jumping onto our kayak unexpectedly. It sounds like my husband is getting attacked in this video, but he is fine. The seal was very gentle and just needed a break from swimming. This was taken on September 12, 2007 on a beautiful Vancouver day.
