 | Norfolk Southern In Goshen Indiana I know this is very far from the most photogenic spot with all the cars and signage in the way but I love sitting here. The Marion branch that the last train is coming off of makes this spot so interesting. It is a special treat when you catch one coming down the branch and then another to fly by on the main, sometimes even 2 on the mains, though rare. It happens often but I was unable to capture it on camera because it was either dark or raining. |

 | Amtrak 48 Lake Shore Limited at Derby, NY - 12/28/07 Amtrak 48 whistles for the Sturgeon Point crossing in Derby, NY before passing by my camera going 79 MPH at the former Depot St. crossing in Derby. The crossing was closed by Conrail and Norfolk Southern back in 1994. Before that time, the road snaked between the Conrail and Norfolk Southern lines, and you could easily park your car and watch trains for hours on end without anyone bothering you. |

I was positioned in a different spot then usual due to all the maintenance machines in the siding near Oakley St. blocking the view, so I decided to position at Main St instead, to then find as the train passes the conductor opening the back door and looking for me down at Oakley. Then to make things worse I got home I just then heard that they have been sitting at the other end of town for about 10 mins. The train went by so fast I ... |
