BOURNE - Four Falmouth school teachers helped save a mans life this morning when they dragged him out of a burning sport utility vehicle, police said. A 49-year-old Sandwich man was driving his Ford Explorer erratically on Route 28 north at 8:41 a.m., when he crashed on the side of the road opposite Falmouth Toyota. Police said the man was unconscious at the time and unable to escape the vehicle filling up with smoke. The driver went up and down embankments on the right side of the highway for nearly 500 feet before the crash, but amazingly did not hit another car, said Bourne Patrolman Thomas Spillane. His injuries were considered non-life-threatening and no one else was injured in the crash. Interim Falmouth Supt. of Schools Marc Dupuis' office said the teachers all work at Lawrence Middle School: Thomas Kelliher, John Long, Jeff Tribou, Adam Thomas. All of the districts teachers have a professional development day today and are headed to various seminars and workshops, he said. FALMOUTH, MA- The tall ship that became stranded on rocks this morning near Woods Hole has been freed, according to the Coast Guard. The Unicorn, a 118-foot ship out of New Jersey, ran aground on the rocks this morning off Nonamesset Island, the most easterly island in the Elizabeth Islands chain, about one half mile from Woods Hole.
