![]() | Klean Kanteen Water Bottle Review If you're still looking for a good, hard-use water bottle you'd be wise to check out Klean Kanteen. Although not as well know as some other companies, Klean Kanteen water bottles fix some of the gripes that I had about Sigg (bigger mouth, can boil water with it) while still maintaining that rock-solid durability. Klean Kanteen bottles feature: - BPA-free & eco-friendly design - made of 18/8, food-grade stainless steel, no liner needed - doesn't retain or impart flavors - slim design fits ... |
![]() | Wordless Travel Book Review Even though I never used The Wordless Travel Book in the two years that I carried it, I would still recommend it to travelers as a cheap and portable piece of insurance for avoiding misunderstandings when abroad. With pictures useful for most social situations, the Wordless Travel Book can be thrown into your daypack and forgotten about until you really need it. My main gripes with it are the construction (would have liked plastic pages) and lack of coverage of topics like medical anatomy ... |
![]() | Ka-Bar BK11 Becker Necker Knife Review (Part 2of2) The Becker Necker is one of those rare things for knife collectors: a great blade at a cheap price. Although marketed as a neck knife, the BK11 actually feels more suited as a small belt knife for general use. In fact when comparing the knife to more popular competitors like the Rat Cutlery RC-3, the BK11 is able to hold its own while still maintaining a reasonable price point. With a few small changes to the knife and its included accessories, I feel the Becker Necker would become a hit for ... |
![]() | Light My Fire Spork Review Bringing your own utensils is a good idea when traveling and a necessity when camping. It's embarrassing but I can't tell you how many times I've carefully planned out what supplies to bring out on to a camping trip and then forgotten to bring any cutlery (and had to use my camp knife as a makeshift fork). Even if you're going abroad and planning on spending all your time in hostels, you'll be grateful when dinner time hits and all the silverware in the hostel kitchen is either being used or ... |

![]() | North Face Terra 40 Backpack Review As expected from a reputable company like North Face, the Terra 40 is functional , durable backpack that is just waiting for hard use on the road. This particular pack is an older model but can still be found on sale at North Face Outlets and Major Backpacking Retailers for approx $50-60. It features: - top-loading design - aluminum stay for internal reinforcement - 40 liters of space in main compartment - front panel pocket - hydration compatible - 2 pockets on either side of the waist belt ... |
![]() | North Face Solaris 35 Backpack Review The North Face 35 is a panel loading bag that can serve as a sturdy day/weekend bag or even an extended trip bag for experienced travelers who like to travel ultra-light. With quality construction and materials that are typical of North Face design, you'll feel that you got your moneys' worth when using it. After a tough road trip through Death Valley in Southern California, I've come to like this pack a lot. Just a few small design changes would be needed to make it perfect. Features ... |
![]() | Buff Multifunctional Headwear Review Although it may seem a bit pricey for a bit of material, Buff headwear is one of the most useful pieces of gear I own. Versatile, durable, and easy to clean, Buffs have kept me comfy in the frigid mountains of the Himalayas and the sweltering jungles of Thailand. If you're trying to save money, beware of cheap knock-offs that look similar but are not nearly as high quality. Hunt for sales online and at your local outdoor stores. For something that you'll be wearing all-day, everyday, you owe ... |
