Hundreds of people gathered at Station Square to show their support for the travel industry. And, all across the country, similar events took place. Pittsburghs rally was prompted by the drastic cuts anticipated in the state budget and National Travel and Tourism Week. Few people know that travel and tourism is the second largest industry in the state and Pennsylvania is the fourth most visited state in the country! Each year, more than 10 million people visit the Pittsburgh region - bringing with them $5.4 billion dollars. And, the industry adds over 77,000 jobs and $530 million in tax revenue.
