 | The biggest lie in history With more and more people starting to diet who are anything but overweight, I feel compelled to make a video like this one. We really need to open our eyes to the truth that the whole "skinny female = sexy" image, is just promoted by large corporations to sell their products. If you were happy with your body, you wouldn't buy their cosmetics, weight-loss programs, ab toners, or diet drinks. The entire beauty industry has a lot to gain by telling women they're ugly. But we really need to see through this. Ever since I have set aside worrying about my weight, I feel much happier. I'm healthy the way I am and most people are. Now, we just need to realize that. |

I chose comedic clips to prove a point. Eating disorders are so prevalent in our society today that it's become okay to make jokes about them. More often than not, the cycle of taboo topics goes something like this: you don't talk about them, you get angry about them, you try to change them, you make jokes about them/you just accept them. Think about the topic of sex today; years ago sex was taboo and no one would ever talk about it and today it's grown into something that people talk about and do freely and think of all the sexually charged jokes you've heard in your lifetime?
