Watford fc..fourth division champions 77/78
Watford take the fourth division title in Graham Taylor's first season..1977/78. Match highlights are against Southend United at Vicarage, which finishes 1-1. That season the Hornets set a club record of 71 points and are awarded the title a full five games before the end of the season. Southend finnish runners up and are also promoted.
Luton vs Watford October 1997
Top of the table (div 1) Watford travel to Luton in October of 1997. The Hatters are going through a bit of a crisis and the Hornets are in great form. No one could have expected quite such a start from the visitors though..as they go 4-0 up after half an hour. There were no further goals added but watford enjoy their first victory over their local rivals for a decade.
Watford vs. Kaiserslautern Uefa cup 1983
Watford win 3-0 and manage to reverse a 3-1 deficit from the 1st leg of this uefa cup 3rd round tie in 1983. It was their first ever European home game and produced a great atmosphere under the Vicarage road floodlights. The result was all the more remarkable because Watford were putting out what was in essence a reserve/junior side.. due to injuries.

This game was regarded as the end of an era for Liverpool fc..as Bill Shankly was quoted as saying he would "break up" this side after the defeat and bring in "new blood"
