This is the 5th part of our seventhvideo of our first taped trip and is # 51 Overall. It was the first trip of the summer, and we left Ontario California headed for Chicago and then on to Garden City NY (NYC). After a few days off, we are now heading back west, but up to the Northwest. We are hauling a load of hanging garments to Tukwila WA. In this segment we travel through Idaho on I-90 East past Lake Coeur d'Alene & I-90 still being constructed...We have so much film from this summer ...
Starrider's Journey Down The East River In New York City
Sailing our Gemini 105Mc Catamaran Sailboat down the East River in New York City. We had to motor most of the journey due to winds on our nose. I am originally from New York City (77St. 1st Ave). Growing up in New York City, I never imagined sailing down the East River with my own yacht. I use to hang out at John Jay park as a kid (in fact my parents met there). As such some of the video dwells on that neighborhood. I hope you all enjoy this short video tour.

The crew is training for the Nieuwpoort Channel Race wich will take place in mid of June. 540 miles to cever without stops, starting from Nieuwpoort. Next the boats will turn the Isle of Wight, Sark and back to Belgium. 30 IRC boats are expected for this unique race.
