![]() | 1945 Goering's First Day as Prisoner - Amateur Color Film http://www.webalice.it/romanoarchives/ May 1945. Hermann Goering's first day as prisoner of the US Army. The tall, thin person walking beside Goering is then Major Paul Kubala (and his dog, Blackie). As in charge of the Augsburg interrogation facility, Major Kubala was Goering's interpreter and primary interrogator. Thanks to Lady Josette Kubala Walton for the following precious informations about her parents and their important historical role: "I have been writing a mini book about my parents...their WWII love story for my children and future grandchildren. My parents had an amazing courtship during the war... I am the first offspring of their marriage then my younger sister. My mother's brother was an officer in the Resistence and she too was working as a spy for the Montagnards... their story is not only romantic but full or harrowing experiences... with my father consantly on the move as an intelligence officer and she, trying to keep one step ahead of the Nazis. At the end of the war, he was in charge of the Augsburg interrogation center. He spoke 5 languages fluently. He later became Military Governor of the Heidleberg Region. In his own memoirs, he states that he interrogated over 2700 people. Goering was his most famous prisoner... but many other high level Nazis were there as well. Just before leaving Germany for his homeward rotation, my father spent some time with the OSS (CIA) then was asked to stay in Europe to head up the program. He was too much of an American by that point and wanted me to be educated in the U.S., so he switched over to the Air Force. My father never talked much about his war time experiences but was writing his memoires until he had a major heart attack and had to retired out of the Air Force. He lost interest after that and his new career as a civilian (27 years in the military), kept him quite busy. His first assignment in the Air Force took him to Wright Patterson Air Base where he worked with many of the German scientists brought over to debrief the American military on just about everything scientific. Now this part of his career will surprise you... he was one of the primary investigators for the Roswell UFO sightings and other sightings!!! He never spoke a word except to my mother who only knew that he was an investigator... I have found a few articles on the internet with his name attached to investigations... but it seems like everything that I find quickly disappears! Something else of interest: My father obtained a map from Goering with the location of all of the hidden land mines surrounding Heidelberg... once all of the map was constructed (verbally), my father immediately went to Heidelberg and advised the city leaders so that the farmers would not go out in the spring to start planting. My parents were married in Heidelberg shortley thereafter. The city leaders were so grateful, they decorated the hall with an abundance of flowers and a very very special gift of a statue. My father didn't tell us much about his experiences... typical of old soldiers... but in his later years, he became the security chief of the missle program at Cape Canaveral, Florida from the very earliest days of the U.S. missle program. He worked quite closely with Dr. Von Braun... once his enemy and bother after each other during the war... The History Channel produced an anniversary film of WWII and at the very end you will see my father with Goering at the now famous press conference where reporters later made an issue that Goering was being treated with special consideration... the truth was that my father was using psychology to make Goering feel that he was still important... it worked and he talked and talked and talked. From those "talks" he divulged the location of the salt mines where his stolen treasures were hidden... and many, many other important issues. My parents are both buried at Arlington Cemetary... a great honor to my father and mother as she too deserves special thoughts as she was a spy for the Montagnards." Amateur color film. Por esta razón, es justo que se de a conocer su historia, ya que la "historia" oficial parece ignorarle o le califican de "criminal de guerra", cuando sólo buscaba la PAZ. |
