The local had a lot of cars to move around this afternoon. This is one of the trains that sunny51352 gets so upset about as it repeatedly blocks one of the crossings in Blacksburg. There was another local working the south end of the yard at the same time. You're probably wondering about that old boxcar between the two gp38's. I'll explain that in part 2. And yes, it wouldn't be a railfan trip without barking dogs.
Norfolk Southern H68 C39-8 Long Hood Forward!!!
July 2, 2007: H68 working Dash-8-39C Long Hood Forward after the freights are past. It's a treat to see a veteran locomotive do a rare fashionable style. You're going to love the heavy freight action as H68 picks up the coal drag and heads west in a push-pull, units Dash-8-39C 8620, and rearing is NS Dash-9-40CW 9147.
