Tornado Development ? Payette, Idaho - May 3,2009

Sunday May 3 2009 SLIDE SHOW of development and progression of a huge storm front which pushed north-east-ward over the small communities of Ontario Oregon, Payette & Fruitland Idaho. Some say it was a tornado funnel cloud that nearly touched down. You can be the judge. At any rate, these cloud formations were powerful! This slide show shows the storms progression as it moved over us northeastward. Photos were taken from the balcony looking south, southeast and southwest ward. What do you think - is it a tornado funnel cloud? Or is it not just a cool video slide show? What a photo opp! Lots of fun. The storm brought cold heavy winds,rain and hail which took all afternoon to melt. Also masses of downed leaves from area trees & shrubs literally littered the streets, driveways and yards!

 | Tornado Funnel in Southern Idaho We've been getting a lot of foul weather here the past couple of days, and yesterday caught a few pictures of a small tornado funnel forming. Today I was sitting on the front deck watching the sky, and saw another one forming, and was able to get the digital camera in time to get a small video of it.  | Avon F2 tornado June 25, 2009 Ontario Storm chase A day of widespread severe weather resulted in numerous tornado sightings and two confirmed tornados, one F1 and another, the one I saw a F2. My chase began around 12:45 pm, I decided to stay between two areas of interest costing me an upclose view of the tornado but it was so unexpected.  | Tornado!! - Cedar Hill, Texas (E of Plainview) - April 29,2009 A spectacular view of a large tornado on top of the Caprock in West Texas from my vantage point just off the Caprock. The structure and apperance of the tornado is quite interesting as it takes on a "tall" cylindrical appearance. Watch as it ropes and snakes out with a second tornado appearing to the right.  | Cold air funnel over Denver, June 14 2009 Funnel clouds appeared over Denver , Colorado on Sunday afternoon 6-14-09. I made this short video of one which was close to my house, as you can see, it never really got organized, but you can see the rotation in the funnel quite clearly. If you listen to the sound track you can hear the sirens going off, that went on for some time. All clear now (6:30 PM), but the weather got interesting for a whilt there |
