Descent 3: Super Thief
There are good games, and then there are amazing games that came before their own time. Descent is one of those games. Taking FPS shooters to the next level, Descent (originally created by Interplay/Parallax Software) introduced new style of gameplay which they called "360º 3D", meaning, you could go anywhere at any given time in the 3 dimensional environment you were in! Here is a demo of Descent 3 in action.

Descent 2
Just some D2X-XL playing, nothing spectacular.
Descent Level 1
When I played Descent the first time on my 486 many years ago it blew me away. Almost everything was 3d and dynamic lighting years before the "revolutionary" quake. Not to mention the enemy AI that was years ahead of other FPS games of that era. So here's a treat to other fans of Descent.

Descent 2
This was Descent II, the sequel to Descent. It has been developed by Parallax Software and published by Interplay in 1996. In this video you can see the interactive demo version. Don't laugh ... the last time I had played this game was about 8 years ago. I had some trouble finding the exit and the guide bot always disappeared when I need it ...
