3-Year Old READS!!!
Description:
Here's Lloyd at 3 doing what he loved the most at the time - reading his flash cards. Lloyd got the diagnosis of Pervasive Developmental Disorder when he was around 2-and-a-half. We weren't going to take this lying down so we decided to drill him with flash cards in order to build up his vocabulary. Lloyd enjoyed it so we thought, "What the hey?" As it turned out, Lloyd could read! He probably figured out reading before he figured out talking. Lloyd entered Kindergarten reading on a fifth grade level. This coming year, he is entering second grade. He's skipping first. We got the idea for the flash card drills from a book called "How To Teach Your Baby To Read" by Glenn Doman. It sounds crazy, but it worked for Lloyd!
