![]() | Serbs attack USA Slovenia Embassy after Kosovo Independence Serbs attack USA Slovenia Embassy after Kosovo Independence Hundreds of protesters clashed with Serbian police on Sunday evening, hours after Kosovo's leaders unilaterally declared the province's independence from Serbia. At least 12 protesters, mainly fans of local soccer clubs and skinheads, were injured and arrested in several skirmishes in the Serbian capital. The crowd damaged the Slovenian embassy, a McDonald's restaurant and about a dozen shop windows. "We hate the West, we hate Western values and civilization," said a club-wielding protestor who identified himself as Nikola. They chanted «Kosovo is Serbia» and slogans against Kosovo Albanians, Serbian President Boris Tadic and pro-Western opposition leaders, but also against conservative Prime Minister Vojislav Kostunica. Masked thugs chanted the name of the Bosnian Serb military leader Ratko Mladic, accused of genocide in the Bosnian 1992-95 war, who is still at large. Police fired tear gas and rubber bullets in a skirmish at the downtown Terazije square, forcing the crowd to disperse, leaving overturned garbage containers, broken glass, stone fragments and other debris behind. Eyewitnesses said that protesters stoned the Belgrade headquarters of the opposition Liberal Democratic Party, the only Serbian political party that has supported the possibility of Kosovo's independence, and a nearby café. B92 television reported that at 9 pm several groups were still in the streets, regrouping and returning to places from which police had earlier chased them away. The station reported that at least 11 policemen had been injured in clashes. The protesters also smashed windows at the embassies of France and Brazil, according to local media and eyewitnesses, where later re-reinforced police protected and restore order. «Then police started fighting back at demonstrators,» said a journalist from a Belgrade daily «Alo» who himself got beaten by police but was not seriously hurt. He said that protesters were smashing everything they came across before police stepped in Although officials have publicly called for calm, B92 also reported that journalists had seen officials of Democratic Party of Serbia, the party of Vojislav Kostunica, the current prime minister, among protesters in the northern city of Novi Sad. Also spotted, according to the report, were representatives from the Socialist Party of Serbia, the party previously led by Slobodan Milosevic, the late wartime president. Protesters in Novi Sad threw stones at two bakeries and a local McDonald's restaurant. A strong police presence was expected to remain in place in downtown Belgrade through Sunday night, guarding government buildings and embassies Earlier in the evening, protesters had blocked the United States embassy in downtown Belgrade, pelting the embassy building and police with stones and signal torches. At least one policeman was carried away in an ambulance. Serbian police in full riot gear had cordoned off the embassy and managed to push protestors away from the embassy. "We want to show we hate Yanks and Shiptars," said a young protester who identified himself only as Dejan. "Shiptar" is a derogatory Serbian term for Kosovo Albanians. serbia srbija vojska albania albanian training UCK KLA kosovo SAJ siptar america orthodox russia grecce SRBIJA SERBIA BOSNA RS REPUBLIKA SRPSKA KOSOVO METOHIJA RUSIJA RUSSIAN GREECE GRK ZIVELO PRAVOSLAVLJE PRAVOSLAVAC BRACA velika srbija great serbia albania uck cetnik siptari kosovo kosova srpska vojska tigrovi arkan pristina beograd siptar sarajevo kosovo republika smesno srbija hrvatska bosna serbia croatia bosnia balkan serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade sr Albanian stupidity Must see serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade srpski srpska serbien cccc Srbija srpske zene cure serbia girls women balkan kosovo je srbija muzika song music igra folk sexy |
![]() | Belgrade like Beirut - Serbs attack U.S. & Western Embassies (CNN) -- Angry demonstrators protesting Kosovo's independence from Serbia attacked the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade on Thursday, throwing rocks, breaking windows and setting fires. art.belgrade.02.ap.jpg Flames light up the facade of the U.S. Embassy in Belgrade, the capital of Serbia. Serbian TV showed someone trying to set fire to the U.S. flag at the embassy, which was closed and unstaffed when the masked protesters attacked. Riot police fired tear gas at the rioters and lines of armored vehicles were on the streets before the embassy perimeter was secured. A State Department official told CNN "things are under control." Kosovo declared independence last Sunday and the United States was among the first countries to offer official recognition of its split from Serbia. One charred body was found in the U.S. Embassy compound, embassy spokesman in Belgrade William Wanlund said. The only Americans at the embassy during the violence were Marines, who are all said to be accounted for. serbia srbija vojska albania albanian training UCK KLA kosovo SAJ siptar america orthodox russia grecce SRBIJA SERBIA BOSNA RS REPUBLIKA SRPSKA KOSOVO METOHIJA RUSIJA RUSSIAN GREECE GRK ZIVELO PRAVOSLAVLJE PRAVOSLAVAC BRACA velika srbija great serbia albania uck cetnik siptari kosovo kosova srpska vojska tigrovi arkan pristina beograd siptar sarajevo kosovo republika smesno srbija hrvatska bosna serbia croatia bosnia balkan serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade sr Albanian stupidity Must see serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade srpski srpska serbien cccc Srbija srpske zene cure serbia girls women balkan kosovo je srbija muzika song music igra folk sexy dance bosnia italy spain russia poland czech republic belorus slovakia slovenia croatia hrvatska ukraine hungary romania moldova estonia germany france greece portugal england scotland ireland north ireland norway sweden finland europe union belgium holland netherlands ljudiHrvati Dalmacija Croatia Istra Slavonija Vukovar Zagreb dinamo torcida bbb hajduk rijeka domovinski rat oluja bljesak maestral teroristi Republika srpska krajina serbia srbija cetnik chetnik cetnici serbs croatia bosna bosnia hrvatska ustasa balija srbi serbian yugoslavia bih azem classi hashim tachi cccc Chetnosong serbian eurosong Hercegovina albania kosovo screbrenica general ante gotovina arkan tudjman mladic karadzic milosevic Dubrovnik kosovo bih kosova shqiperia albania uck kla macedonia makedonija skopje greece hellas greek makedonia vmro serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade srpski srpska serbien serbian serbien chetniks cetnici serbs srbi serbia srbija yugoslavia bosnia bosna krajina kosovo cetnik chetnik srbin war Tanks army serbian serbien chetniks cetnici serbs srbi serbia srbija yugoslavia bosnia bosna cetnik chetnik srbin Dubrovnik kosovo bih kosova shqiperia albania uck kla macedonia makedonija skopje greece hellas greek makedonia vmro serbia srbija srbi srbin serb serbs cetnik chetnik cetnici chetniks serbian beograd belgrade srpski srpska serbien cccc Srbija srpske zene cure serbia girls women balkan kosovo je srbija muzika song music igra folk sexy dance bosnia italy spain russia poland czech republic belorus slovakia slovenia croatia hrvatska ukraine hungary romania moldova estonia germany france greece portugal england scotland ireland north ireland norway sweden finland europe union belgium holland netherlands ljudi people britney spears eurosong Hercegovina albania kosovo screbrenica serbia srbija cetnik chetnik cetnici serbs croatia bosnia hrvatska srbi serbian yugoslavia bih cccc mladic karadzic milosevic b92 rts srj scg Montenegro Crna Gora podgorica srbija serbia croatia hrvatska dubrovnik herceg novi tivat kotor cetinje boka kotorska konavle cavtat cepikuce lovcen njegos bar budva niksic podgorica ulcinj berane rozaje kolasin jevrem brkovic slavko perovic momir bulatovic flash gordon BEIRUT |

![]() | US F-16 shoot down by serbian army in Bosnia 1995 Bosnian Serb Army SA-6 surface-to-air missile shot down a USAF F-16 near Mrkonjić Grad, Bosnia and Herzegovina on June 2, 1995. The American pilot, Scott O'Grady, ejected safely and was rescued six days later, on June 8. The 2001 film Behind Enemy Lines is loosely based on this event. The incident The pilots, Scott "Zulu" O'Grady (call sign "Basher 52", pronounced "Basher Five-Two") and his flight lead, Capt. Robert G. "Wilbur" Wright (call sign: "Basher 51", pronounced "Basher Five-One"), were briefed on the morning of June 2 about the weather and enemy positions they could expect for their flight. The two pilots took off without incident and flew according to their assigned mission parameters. The Serbs had unexpectedly moved a missile battery south and laid a trap for any incoming aircraft. They switched on their missile radars sparingly, giving the F-16 pilots little warning of their position, and fired two SAMs toward the jets. O'Grady was alerted by cockpit instruments that a missile was coming, though flying in clouds, he could not see it. The first missile exploded between the two USAF F-16s. The second hit O'Grady's plane in the belly. As his aircraft broke apart from the damage of the missile strike, O'Grady successfully ejected. After landing, O'Grady abandoned his parachute and moved into the woods. He lay face down, cupping his camouflaged flight gloves over his head and ears so he could not be spotted in the brush. Within minutes a teenage boy and a man wandered past; then he saw armed men nearby. Grady evaded detection even though the search for him continued relentlessly during his time on the ground. Part of this may be credited to his military SERE (survival, evasion, resistance, and escape) training, which taught him how to obtain water and food, evade detection, and avoid medical dangers like hypothermia. The rescue O'Grady waited to radio for help; he had been taught that downed pilots are often captured after calling for help too soon, giving away their position. Finally, on June 6, he signaled his location, using a little more of the small reserve of his radio's battery power each time he went on the air. The next day, just after 2:00 AM, he spoke into the radio. An American voice responded, and the rescue was set in motion. On June 8, 1995, he was rescued by United States Marines of the 24th Marine Expeditionary Unit based on the USS Kearsarge. ------------------------------------------------------------------ |

Početak četničke pobune u Hrvastkoj The Plitvice Lakes incident of March 1991 (known in Croatian as "Plitvice Bloody Easter", Krvavi Uskrs na Plitvicama / Plitvički Krvavi Uskrs) was a clash between security forces of the Republic of Croatia and armed Serb separatists (Chetniks). It resulted in two deaths -- one on each side -- and contributed significantly to the worsening ethnic tensions that were to be at the heart of the subsequent Croatian War of Independence.
