Despite the pending storm last Monday night, all the stars were out in Garden City Michigan at Metropolitan Lincoln Mercurys red-carpeted gala for customers and VIPs alike. Among flashing lights and cameras, tuxedos, gowns and exquisite food, Lincolns new flagship vehicle was unveiled the Lincoln MKS. At this unparalleled event, where Metropolitans showroom looked more like a Hollywood studio than a dealership, who better to introduce the Lincoln MKS to more than 500 assembled customers, sports figures and politicians than Ford Motor Company, President of the Americas, Mark Fields. Fields was introduced by Metropolitan owner Cullan F. Meathe and co-owner John Obeid, as they illustrated Metropolitans commitment to provide every customer with outstanding service and extraordinary vehicles like the Lincoln MKS. With television cameras rolling and the assembled crowd pushing closer for a better look, the shimmering red cloth was drawn away as the new Lincoln MKS was unveiled amidst enthusiastic applause. More cheers bust forth as American Red Cross CEO Diane E. Ward made the announcement that anyone who attempts to donate blood at a participating Red Cross location between now and September 19th, 2008 will be issued an entry ticket into a drawing to win a Lincoln MKS lease free from Metropolitan Lincoln Mercury. The incentive of winning a free Lincoln MKS lease is a wonderful way for someone to be rewarded for the gift of life they are giving when they donate blood, said Ward. Following Wards remarks singer-pianist Steve Acho debuted an original song by composer Dana Newhouse titled The Gift of Life a tribute to all the blood donors whose generosity helps saves lives. Achos passionate rendition captured the emotion of both those who give and those who receive the ultimate gift of life. Anyone who is interested in donating blood through the American Red Cross can call 1-800-GIVE-LIFE or visit www.GiveLife.org to schedule an appointment. After the unveiling, guests enthusiastically swarmed the Lincoln MKS while they enjoyed live jazz, gourmet catering and bubbling champagne. Guests raved about the vehicle, including William Tokarz from Canton. I think its an outstanding car. I can see how people would have ordered this without even seeing it in person. Dozens of orders were placed for the Lincoln MKS and even more guests said theyll be coming back soon for a test drive. The Lincoln MKS is the new flagship vehicle for Lincoln. Its a direction that is about refinement rather than ostentation, says Peter Horbury, Fords executive director of Design North America. The Lincoln MKS features a strong beltline, horizontal headlamps, and a pronounced bowwave grill that is a nod to Lincolns heritage. Lincoln MKS is a luxury car that doesnt need to shout, observes Horbury. It captivates with a whisper. The new model also recognizes the role of technology and innovation in bringing luxury to the American car buyer. The vehicle incorporates SYNC, a fully integrated, voice-activated in-car communications and entertainment system, as well as SIRIUS Travel Link. As the evening drew to a close, the sky cleared and the stars shone down as guests drove away replaying in their minds the magical transformation of a dealership into a star-strewn studio. It was an elegant evening introducing a truly elegant Lincoln. Metropolitan Lincoln Mercury is located at 32000 Ford Road, Garden City, Michigan 48135.
