UP 844 April 22nd 2009 (Part One)
The start of the day was getting down to Herst Siding. PLA agree'd with the crew of 844 to have a meet. So in this we see the beautiful SP 2472, Robert Dollar #3 and the awesome beast UP 844. I managed to get lucky with this one. UP decided to let everybody over to the other side of the tracks so we could get good shots. I would also like to point out that UP steam hasn't been to the bay area since 1991......In fact, #844 has NEVER been to Niles Canyon before!

Day 1 of 844's trip to California, April 11 2009. We saw 844 at Red Bluffs, Rock River, and Ramsey. A sampling of the day's freight activity was also included. Note that between the trains of containers headed to Walmart and the new cars heading west, this is proof the economy is getting better!
