ROAD TRIP 2007- DAY 12 - Zion National Park, Utah
Description:
We left Las Vegas after an enormous breakfast buffet... heading up I-15 to Utah. The scenery was beautiful as it changed from flat, uninviting desert to glorious red buttes and mesas, against the bluest sky I've seen in years. We began taking pictures before getting into the park! We thought the best thing was going through a mile long tunnel, constructed in the 1930s... however, at the other end of the tunnel was a lone bighorn ram!! He was just walking along the street and slowly disappeared up the hillside as we took photos. THAT was probably the highlight of the entire road trip as we were always looking for wildlife! Only an hour or so away... Bryce Canyon!!

 | Zion National Park (Part 1) On our first full day in the park we used the buses and headed into the canyon. We stopped at the Court Of The Patriarchs bus stop and began to take our pictures. From there we also stopped at Zion Lodge, and when we hit the end of the road Bill and I waded up the river to further explore the canyon. We really enjoyed this canyon because you are already situated on the canyon floor while staring up at the rim above. |
