A BNSF Detroit Edison empty coal train thunders through Aitkin, MN on this warm early spring day. This train has a rare unit leading, BNSF 9591, an executive scheme locomotive still bearing the logo of it's original owner, BN, on the nose. A nice little welcome back to the Brainerd Subdivision, which is usually filled with H2 sd70macs. BNSF SD70ACE 9300 leads a train of westbound coal empties across the Aitkin/Crow Wing County line near Deerwood, MN. Assisting in the pull is another SD70ACE, 9370, while ES44AC 6169 serves as the train's DPU.
