This video was edited on an iBook G4 and Final Cut Pro using slow motion frame blending and motion blur at 40% normal speed. Song: Love Theme from Bladerunner. The Red Arrows, officially known as the Royal Air Force Aerobatic Team, is the aerobatics display team of the Royal Air Force, based at RAF Scampton, United Kingdom. They were formed in late 1964 as an all-RAF team, replacing a number of unofficial teams that had been sponsored by various RAF commands. The Red Arrows badge shows the aircraft in their trademark diamond nine formation, with the motto Eclat, meaning "brilliance" or "excellence". The Red Arrows were equipped with seven Folland Gnat trainers which were inherited from the RAF Yellowjacks, display team. This aircraft was chosen because it was less expensive to operate than front-line fighters. In their first season, they flew at 65 shows across Europe. In 1966, the team was increased to nine members, enabling them to develop their Diamond Nine formation. In late 1979, they switched to the BAE Hawk trainer. The Red Arrows have now performed nearly 4,000 displays world-wide in over fifty countries.

MIG-29 OVT Awesome Promo Video
Coolest MIG Video Ever! TO WATCH IN HIGH QUALITY just add &fmt=18 to the end of the URL that is currently in your browser and hit enter. This is a very slick presentation for this Russian jet, showing off its thrust vector technology - and check the nice paint job. The Mikoyan MiG-29 (Russian: МиГ-29) is a 4th generation jet fighter aircraft designed for the air superiority role in the Soviet Union. Developed in the 1970s by the Mikoyan design bureau, it entered service in 1983 and remains in use by the Russian Air Force as well as in many other nations. NATO's reporting name for the MiG-29 is "Fulcrum", which was unofficially used by Soviet pilots in service. It was developed to counter new American fighters such as the F-16 Fighting Falcon, and the F/A-18 Hornet. In 1997, the United States purchased 21 Moldovan aircraft for evaluation and analysis, under the Cooperative Threat Reduction accord. Fourteen of the aircraft were the MiG-29S model, which is equipped with an active radar jammer in its spine and is capable of being armed with nuclear weapons. Part of the United States motive to purchase the Moldovan MiG-29s, was to prevent these aircraft from being sold to nations it deemed to be "rogue states", especially Iran. In late 1997, the MiGs were delivered to the National Air Intelligence Center (NAIC) at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base near Dayton, Ohio. One former Moldovan MiG-29S is currently on display at the National Museum of the United States Air Force at Wright-Patterson, and a MiG-29UB is on display at the NAIC headquarters of the base. The fate of all but one of the former Moldovan MiG-29s is unknown, although many are believed to have been scrapped. One MiG-29 is on display at Nellis AFB, Nevada fully painted in its Soviet colors while another of the former Moldavian aircraft is located on the base in its original camouflage. At NAS Fallon NV air-park, one MiG-29 is on display and another in display at MacDill AFB in Florida minus its canopy. Source: wikipedia
Red Arrows Display Over New York City
Red Arrows Over New York City Wednesday June 25, 2008 IN THIS VIDEO, watch as the Red Arrows fly a spectacular rolling show performance over New York Harbor for a special crowd gathered at South Beach in Staten Island. The Reds' performance over NYC was their first, and was part of a larger North American goodwill tour, which included airshows in Quebec City, Langley AFB, and Rhode Island, and the NYC performance brought mainly in part by ICAP, which is the world's premier voice and electronic interdealer broker, delivering specialist intermediary broking services to trading professionals in the wholesale financial markets. Despite the fact that it was a private show for the company (and that ICAP had a private party on South Beach), it was indeed open to the public to view from the beach or boardwalk. Following their performance, the Reds were joined by another Red Arrow, for a couple flybys of the Statue of Liberty as part of a special photo shoot. Like what you've seen? Well, if you are interested in purchasing DVDs of specific aircraft and/or of airshows, interested in anything and everything related to airshows (where the jet teams will show up, all airshow performers, airshow reports from airshows I have attended, previews of airshows I will be attending, etc.), a much more easier to navigate "version" of all of my videos, and/or everything there is related to aviation - including spotting guides to my favorite airports and military bases and aircraft factfiles, please take time to check out Steve's Airshow World at http://www.stevesairshow.com .
