The Lake Express ferry makes the annual voyage from it's winter home in Milwaukee's Menomonee Valley, not far from Miller Park, to the Lake Michigan lakefront. The Lake Express will now undergo final preparations for the May 1st opening of the 2009 season of daily Lake Michigan crossings between Milwaukee and Muskegon, Michigan. Lake Express began service in 2004 as the first high speed auto and passenger ferry to operate between US ports. It has completed more than 5,000 Lake Michigan crossings between Milwaukee, WI and Muskegon, MI and has carried more than 600,000 since its inaugural voyage June 1, 2004.
