This is the second tornado from the supercell that spawned the deadly EF-5 Parkersburg, Iowa, tornado. We intercepted the storm near Fairbank, where the new wall cloud was organizing as the first tornado occluded to the north. We tracked with the new circulation from a distance of maybe a half-mile to its south as it lowered, turned right, and produced an immense wedge that struck the southern edge of Hazleton a glancing blow.

NWS personnel have rated the Parkersburg-New Hartford-Dunkerton tornado as EF 5 (correlated to wind speeds up to 205 MPH) on the Enhanced Fujita Scale at the locations of maximum damage. The video is from HWY 20 I mile West of Dike. I'm shooting to the Southeast on the South side of HWY 20. The tornado re-developed after crossing HWY 20 to cause damage to a hog confinement building West of Dike. The tornado became rain wrapped when re-developed on the North side of HWY 20.
