Reeko Road Trip - Medicine Park to Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Title:
Reeko Road Trip - Medicine Park to Fort Sill, Oklahoma
Description:
www.giwoodshop.com Second part of trip to pick my sister up from her vacation. This is Medicine Park, OK (pop. 373) where we had lunch. It is near the entrance to the Wichita Mountains and the town is built almost entirely with "cobblestones" which are small, round, red/orange rocks that are unique to the Wichita Mountains. Then we went to Fort Sill, first to the Apache Cemetery, where the Apache Chiefs (like Geronimo) are buried, then to the main Ft Sill Cemetery where Comanche, Kiowa and other vets are - including our grandfather. I dedicated this one to my son, Chris. We passed by Wichita Falls on the way home to see him also. His grave is after the credits. Please visit our website for the troops overseas. Thank you! G.I. I later saw a young Native American son come back with a flag draped over his casket and I finished the song. I believe all mother's and father's know the meaning of this pain of separation and the possibility of them not returning home. But where there is love, there ... |
