Newark Bay Bridge Crossing
The 3rd leg of our journey, the crossing of the Newark Bay Bridge towards NJ from Bayonne. By this point, the kids were very excited about all the bridges they could see. A large Continental Airlines plane can be seen crossing over the roadway towards Newark Airport.
Arthur Ravenel Bridge in Charleston, SC
This is correctly known as the Arthur Ravenel Bridge over the Cooper River. It is not the highest suspension bridge in the country, at 186 feet above water -- there are several, such as the Verrazano Narrows, Golden Gate and George Washington, that are higher. However, it is the longest cable stay bridge in the U.S. with a 1,546 foot center span between towers.

Cooper River Bridges
My family takes one last trip over the Silas N. Pearman bridge, passing next to the Grace Memorial Bridge. Two days later these bridges were closed to open up the new Arthur Ravenel Bridge. Filmed on location between Charleston and Mount Pleasant, SC.
