Description:
Episode 1 part 1: CIVIL WAR WRECK Into the Depths of History tells the story of various episodes from American history using four historical shipwrecks lying in American coastal waters. In the first episode divers are attempting to dive the barracuda infested remains of a sunken ship believed to be from the Civil War era. A historical flashback takes us back into time and tells the story of the American Civil War, its causes and outcome, focusing particularly on the naval blockage of Confederate States by the Union Navy. In the end the remains of the ship are identified and the wreck turns out to be Union blockade vessel USS Arakansas later known as Tonawanda.
