Most recordings of Barnum are from the 1983 World championships, but the organizers of that event obviously didn't know much about skating because the first thing I noticed when I arrived there was that the cameras were on the wrong side of the arena (i.e. the opposite side to where the judges sit). Barnum is a piece that needs to be seen from the front. So here, recorded at a practice session, is Barnum as you have probably never seen it before. Apologies for the slight glitch in the sound at one point.

This number has a slightly unusual history. When Mack & Mabel hit the public eye, one of the British tabloid newspapers commented on its 'Fred Astaire' qualities and got T&D to dress as Fred & Ginger for a photo shoot (on the ice). Intrigued by this, they decided to choreograph a number to go with it, though the outfits needed a bit of modification!
