![]() | Bay Coast Railroad A walk around the Bay Coast Railroad, formally the Eastern Shore Railroad, in Cape Charles, VA. The railroad goes from Pocomoke City, MD to Norfolk, Va. The interesting thing is from Cape Charles, it takes a ferry across the Chesapeake Bay to Norfolk. You can see where it leaves in this video. The train running was caught just south of Eastville, VA. |
![]() | Exploring abandon homes I used a Kayak to go exploring two abandoned home sites. These homes existed back in the 1940s and were destroyed from a typhoon. The only way to get here is by boat or kayak then a short trek across some muddy marshland. This land is cut off from the mainland by marsh and natural waterways. The Nature Conservancy purchased all the land around this area, preventing new development here. You can see why they did that, it is beautiful here. Quinby VA, on the eastern shore. |

![]() | Angels over Oceana make driving dangerous I was driving around near NAS Oceana and heard a huge jet roar, so loud it shook the car. As the jets scremed overhead I saw it was the Blue Angels. That reminded me that there was an airshow. During the day many plane were flying around. The day before a pilot for the GEICO Skywriters augered in but they went on with the show anyway. Kind of hard to drive, film and watch, I found it sort of dangerous so I waited until I was stopped at a light to film the jets. No left turn on Oceana Blvd ... |
