Ever since I accepted a time-consuming job at the Press-Enterprise, Riverside newspaper, I have had too little time and energy to paint and make scale models of future installations, so now I take only photos as a creative expresssion. The first part of the "moviette" consists of panoramic images of street scenes -- most taken across the street from Mario Restaurant, while the latter part has non-panoramic stills of George and his carriage crew. Subject matter in both parts is the ambiance of downtown Riverside during the 2007 Christmas season, on or around Mission Inn Blvd. The stills show horse and carriages manufactured and operated by G. & F. Carriages owned by George (unknown last name). George and his crew take happy customers on rides around the Mission Inn and vicinity, giving customers a happy and satisfying holiday experience. He offers the service for about three weeks, during the height of the season. The carriages, well...they are handsome. People truly enjoy riding them, as they snap their digital cameras at their friends, family, horses and carriages, and the always fascinating architecture of the Mission Inn. I made the panoramas from overlapping stills, stitching them together with Photoshop CS3. Hope you enjoy them. Merry Christmas! Back in Russia from an unsatisfying approx. two year visit to the United States, Tchaikovsky wrote the beloved Nutcracker Suite that he completed in 1892. The suite included 1.Miniature Overture, 2.March, 3.Dance of the Sugar Plum Fairy, 4.Trepak, 5.Arab Dance, 6.Danse Chinoise, 8.Waltz of the flowers).
