![]() | Iterated Logistic Map A video of the basins of attraction of an iterated logistic map. The bar on the right indicates the parameter used and the window on the left is the attractor, demonstrating the bifurcation sequence - periodic to chaotic. |

![]() | Bifurkációs görbe (bifurcation diagram) The numeric approximation of the bifurcation diagram of an inverse pendulum. The stabel positions are the roots of the following equation: a*(fi-fi0) = sin(fi) Where 'a' is the (torsion) spring constant, 'fi' is the polar position (fi=0 is the vertical state), and 'fi0' is the relaxed state (where a*(fi-fi0) = 0). |
![]() | Self similar pattern when ink dissolves in water When I drop ink into the water very carefully, I thought this would be just simply chaotic process like in Rayleigh-Taylor instability with no well defined pattern; however, surprisingly, it turns out to be rather regular with self similar bifurcation where number three is preferred. I don't know why and I did not see this phenomenon elsewhere in the textbook; therefore, I upload it to see if anyone can give me some reasonable explanations of it. |
