Steam Locomotive built by Vulcan Iron Works, Wilkes Barre PA in 1930. This locomotive belongs to John & Byron Gramling of Ashley IND. and is running at the North Carolina Transportation Museum during the Month of May, 2008

Our family vacation during the Thanksgiving holiday 2008 captured at the Great Smoky Mountain Railroad excursion on the morning of Friday, November 28, 2008. Departed Bryson City Depot at 1030 EDT and traveled to the Natahala Outdoor Center (NOC) arriving around 1205 EDT then the GP9 moved along the siding for the trip back to Bryson City. Go to Dillsboro, NC, and watch the awesome power of a steam locomotive in action. 1702 was biult by Baldwin in Sept. 1942 for the US Army, sold to several other railroads, and wound up on the GSMR in 1991. Sadly she was removed from service in 2005.
