BOB DAVIES (NBA Hall of Fame) Talks About Travel in the Early Days

Description:
NBA Hall of Famer (and inventor of the behind-the-back dribble and pass) Bob Davies talks about riding the train to play games in the early days of the NBA for the Rochester Royals. Davies, known as "The Harrisburg Houdini" was the best ball handler of the NBA's first quarter century and was MVP in the Royals Championship year of 1951. Famed coach and author Claire Bee admired Davies so much that he modeled his "Chip Hilton" series of books for boys after Bob.

Sydney's death - Melrose Place
Sydney Andrews (Laura Leighton) left the original 'Melrose Place' at the end of the 1996-1997 season by way of death. This was her last scene on the show and it was said in the season premiere of the show's sixth season, without actually seeing her, that Syd had died. This was the perfect way for Sydney to go out - she had spent years being misunderstood and searching for love, and when she finally found it with Craig (who later blew his brains out)... ka-pow, she's done. Poetic ending for ...

My grandfather, Clair Bee, coached basketball at Long Island University from 1931-1951. He and his 1935-36 team were inducted into the LIU Hall of Fame on Feb 21, 2009 for boycotting the 1936 US Olympic Trials in protest of Hitler's policies towards Jews. The 1935-36 Blackbirds were the country's top-rated team and consisted of Jules Bender, Ben Kramer, Leo Mersen, Art Hillhouse, and Marius Russo.
