Part 1 of 2 Video shot October 30, 2009 from on board Amtrak's Empire Builder as it passes through Fargo, North Dakota and Moorhead, Minnesota. When they're on time, both east and westbound Empire Builders travel through this area very early in the morning when most passengers are attempting to sleep. Scanner audio was recorded using a scanner hooked up to a voice recorder set to go off only upon the transmittance of sound. Running on-time into Havre arriving at 1:12 PM, the Empire Builder, #8, charges east toward Malta, Minot, Fargo, Minneapolis/St. Paul, Milwaukee, and Chicago, just east of Chinook, MT on bnsf's Milk River Subdivision. So my journey on the Empire Builder begins at Chicago Union Station. This was the sickest train ride ever. I went all the way from Chicago to Seattle. The woman you hear talking in the beginning of this video is a bit...creepy. She would randomly start singing out of nowhere. This video was shot from the Lounge Car (my favorite car!) which was STOLEN by those Portlanders at Spokane, WA. Filmed 3/42/09

Amtrak 148, 116, and 193 leads Empire Builder #7 North and Metra 210 also comes through with train #2611. The Empire Builder is on the left because of the Metra. It would be on the right track if it wasn't 30 minutes late. 1/17/2009
