This is a local festival with the best carnival food anywhere I've seen! This episode features vintage fluorescent lights in operation, a 1910's?? KC Recycling Center Turns To Solar Power
The recycling center at East 91st Street and Hillcrest Road has switched to solar energy for its power. "We've never had any electricity here at the center," said Richard Gordon of Bridging the Gap. "We're installing an off-grid, hybrid renewable energy system," said Bob Solger of the Energy Savings store. Solger installed solar panels and a turbine to power the recycling center on Tuesday. kmbc's Kris Ketz reported that the system works by collecting enough outside to run everything inside ...
Hunter Original Ceiling Fan Demonstration
My words honestly describe the video, but this is an american made fan that only a few were produced in this finish. One of the most powerful fans ever manufactured. This fan also contains an oil cup, which holds about 1 oz of 10wt oil, instead of "sealed bearings". Check our Ceiling Fan Collecting Forum www.fans.dangeroustacos.com for more info on us crazy fan collectors!
A tour of Baird, Texas (includes old movie theatre info)
Here I show the historic buildings in Baird and talk with the antique store owner about the store which was converted from the Plaza Theatre. She shows pictures of when it used to be a theatre.
1950's or 60's Industrial Rack Mount AM/FM tube tuner
This may be a Jerrold or Channel Master, not sure...no maker's info on it except there are Channel Master tubes. I replaced the electrolytic caps and added a fuse, new silicon diode and power cord. The AM works well but the FM will need some more work as there is some distortion.
Driving in the 1978 Mercury Grand Marquis
Here I go on a short drive through my little community and listen to the AM radio.
Rotating waterfall lamp with sound effects
I really liked this lamp I saw at an antique store, it was so outlandish it fit into my decor exactly! It has built in water and bird sounds that are controlled by a potentiometer on the lamp finial. Also you can see a picture of the West building room, I spent most of Saturday cleaning and vacuuming and rearranging some things.
Watch the Honeymooners on a 1957 Zenith TV part 2 of 3
This is a 1957 Zenith model Z3004R using the 17Z22Q chassis. Its the first TV to use the "practical" remote control, the space command 200. There were in fact two previous systems, both by zenith. The "Lazybones" and the "Flash-matic". The space command is known as the first "practical" remote control. I restored this set back in '99. In this video, you can watch the best TV show of the 1950's, the Honeymooners. This particular episode is from '56 and this TV was built in October of '56 when ...
