Title:
Boomer Castleman and Lois Hess at Poodie's - Wipe Out

Description:
Boomer Castleman and Lois Hess performing at Poodie's Bar and Grill in Austin Tx. Boomer Castleman, is an American singer-songwriter and guitarist from Farmers Branch, Texas. He is a one-hit wonder, hitting the US charts in 1975 with the single "Judy Mae", which peaked at #33. Castleman is also the inventor of the palm pedal, a device that allow guitar players to execute pedal steel-style string bends. He made his original prototype in 1968, and the device is now marketed under the name Bigsby Palm Pedal. The original patent has expired, allowing other vendors to market similar devices, but the Bigsby/Castleman version is the original. Castleman also founded the independent country music record label BNA Records which he later sold to BMG Music.

Poodie's Hilltop Roadhouse Bar and Grill in Spicewood on 71W
Poodie's needs no introduction to Austinites in the know. It seems like it is a long way out on 71 but actually when you get to 620 and the Aboretum in Bee Caves, you are two thirds of the way there. I'd say 20 miles out of town, maybe twenty five. You never know when you might run into Willie Nelson at Poodie's. They are tight and he and Willie have worked together for decades. Of course, like everyone, he has his detractors. People who do their job well, often do. www.poodies.info www ...
