Title:
Beyond Invention- Amazing Flying Machines- AIRBOARD

Description:
Premiering on June 8, 9th on Discovery- THE SCIENCE CHANNEL- Beyond Invention episode about weird flying devices. One of the coolest is the personal "hovercraft"- designed by an Australian Inventor- these things really work and you could take 'em into skateboard parks and ride up the walls with them- speed governed to 15-20 miles an hour- cause without it, they'll do 50mph!

Riot Wheel (Re-Invention Of The) wheel.
www.theriotwheel.com This chunky 1100-pound machine is Jake Lyall's RIOT (Re-Invention Of The) wheel. Lyall's monowheel is unusual because it does not use the rider's weight to provide the reaction to the engine's thrust on the wheel. Instead the rider is outside, and the reaction is given by a lead-weighted Honda 80cc 4-stroke scooter engine suspended from a central shaft, driving through a sprocket attached to the wheel spokes. A separate 450-pound counterweight keeps the rider hovering above the ground at the front. Steering is done partly by precessing a 65-pound gyroscope to give yaw, and partly by the rider shifting his weight.
Moller SkyCar - Flying car
Moller International has developed the first and only feasible, personally affordable, personal vertical takeoff and landing (VTOL) vehicle the world has ever seen. You've always known it was just a matter of time before the world demanded some kind of flying machine which would replace the automobile. Of course, this machine would have to be capable of VTOL, be easy to maintain, cost effective and reliable. Well, we at Moller International believe we have come up with the solution. That solution is the volantor named M400 Skycar.
Antigravity
An idea for an antigravity machine that I illustrated in 1992 using 3d-studio and povray. Music by Andy Lee Robinson, "Escape to Osiris". The weights on the gears follow a cardiod path which appear to give a non-zero resultant. Would be nice if someone with more maths knowledge than I could integrate the forces properly, I would expect it to all balance out and not violate any laws. However, if this could run at relativistic speeds using excited ions, perhaps some progress could be made?
INVENTION AWARDS: The Flying Belt
Rappel up a wall at an astonishing 10 feet per second with the Atlas Powered Rope Ascender
Strange flying machine.
I was sitting on my yacht anchored in Nelson, NZ one morning. In the far distance I was vaguely aware of some type of boat racing up and down. I could hear the engine screaming and could see the wake of the 'boat'. For some reason I kept my eye on it over the next 40 minutes. I slowly realized that occasionally the wake would vanish and reappear. Even though it was a dot on the horizon at the far end of the bay I realized that it was some type of home made flying boat that was having problems getting airborne for any length of time. Another 30 mins passed with the craft racing up and down and then seeming to stop for some fine tuning before having another attempt. And then the pilot turned 90 degrees and came racing up the bay straight towards me. He seemed to have a bit of trouble keeping the wing tips out of the water and the craft appeared to be slightly sensitive. You will notice that at the end of the movie he starts to drag a wing tip. However I am sure that he will iron out all these problems and soon we will all have flying dingies! I raced inside and grabbed my camera. I apologize for the really poor photography but I had several things going on at once and was not prepared to start filming on such short notice. And check out my web site. I spend a lot of time sailing in the South Pacific and am often looking for crew. http://sailontankgirl.com/ http://crewontankgirl.co.uk/

Renetto's Amazing Invention
A little demonstration for you of Renetto and Dave's amazing portable hammock . . . which I purchased several years ago. I was astonished to watch Paul Robinett's (Renetto) main vid where he talks about who he is, and that he created one of my favorite things -- my cool hammock that I can put up anywhere! It was something I always wanted, believe it or not! This is not an advertisement but a review of his invention. You can purchase this item at this link: http://www.beachstore.com/detail.aspx?ID=1937
