Salad Bowl "gourdless" Gourd Banjo #2 - Deep Creek Strings
My second salad bowl banjo. This one has a goat skin head tacked on to a salad bowl hand cafted by a local wood turner, Ron Thompson. I also demo the banjo. Please be kind, I'm a beginner (a month ago I could barely bum-ditty). The quality of the video isn't as good as I'd like. Roustabout (Gourd Banjo)
This version is inspired by Fred Cocharam. The banjo is made by Bob Thournburg.
Run, Rabbit, Run
Pardon the rough video. Wanted to show off my homemade gourd banjo. I used the neck from my Prust tackhead. The tune is from RD Lunceford's album "Cotton Blossom" - It is an old slave song. Lunceford writes "this song was used to alert escaped slaves to the presence of 'paterollers' or slave-hunters in the area." I think it fits nicely on the gourd.
